This 7 Layer Spicy Taco Dip is a lighter take on your favorite party appetizer perfect for any gathering or event that you can enjoy guilt-free! A special thanks for Sabra Hummus for sponsoring this post!
Hummus is one of those staple items that is ALWAYS in my fridge because it’s perfect to have on hand whenever people come over or you just want something delicious to snack on. Sabra Hummus has always been my go-to brand because their hummus is made with simple, fresh ingredients and I honestly don’t think I’ve tasted a flavor that I didn’t like! Sabra Hummus has everything from Roasted Red Pepper and Garlic to Olive Tapenade and of course, my personal favorite, Supremely Spicy!
All of these flavors taste great with a variety of veggies, pita chips or even pretzels and I even like to layer hummus on my sandwiches as a lighter substitute for mayo!
For this 7 layer spicy taco dip I used Sabra Hummus’ Supremely Spicy hummus which is one of my favorites and it really gave the whole dish a nice kick! The blend of chili peppers, garlic and spices tasted perfect with the different layers of salsa, guacamole, and cheese and the best part is you can easily throw this together in just minutes!
Eating better definitely doesn’t have to be boring and I’ll gladly take fresh spicy hummus over canned refried beans any day! I also used plain Greek yogurt in place of the sour cream and added a combination of seasonings like cumin, chili powder and smoked paprika to really bring all the flavors together. The other layers include fresh guacamole, salsa, and shredded cheese along with fun toppings! Feel free to make your own guacamole and salsa OR save time and buy them all pre-made so you can quickly assemble everything with little to no effort!
This is why I love Sabra Hummus – simply pop off the lid and you have a deliciously wholesome meal all ready to go! It’s one of those things my friends and I always enjoy eating before going out or even just to tide us over until dinner. I mean it’s basically our “unofficial meal,” except without all the prep work and clean-up which is totally my kind of snack!
So whether you’re serving various flavors of hummus or this delicious 7 layer spicy taco dip, you can be sure everyone will be gathered around enjoying themselves. Luckily this recipe makes a TON which is good because I promise you this dip will go fast!
I served this taco dip with multi-grain tortilla chips, but feel free to use an assortment of your favorite chips and veggies. There is absolutely no cooking or baking required, just a simple assembly of 7 mouthwatering layers and voila! A delicious party dip that your friends will thank you for.
This is such a classic recipe that everyone should have on hand, so why not make it healthier?! Fresh wholesome ingredients, tons of flavor and the perfect excuse to get everyone together! I actually recently made this for a Cinco de Mayo party and it was a total hit, but it’s one of those dips that’s great for really any occasion whether you’re having a Super Bowl party, picnic or Memorial Day cookout!
Are you hungry yet?!
The other great thing is you can make this spicy taco dip all your own! If a lot of heat isn’t your thing, simply use your favorite flavor of hummus and by all means have fun with the salsa! Corn and black bean salsa would make a fun addition adding even more flavor to this dip and you could also add different toppings like chopped peppers, cilantro and shredded lettuce.
You really can’t go wrong and I hope this dish is as much of a hit with your family as it was with mine!
