Ingredients
2 (4-ounce) high-quality tuna steaks
Extra-virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons finely ground coffee
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon chili powder
Instructions
- Brush the tuna steaks with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, combine the coffee, pepper, salt, cinnamon, and chili powder.
- Sprinkle the coffee mixture over both sides of the tuna steaks and let them rest, bringing them to room temperature, for about 30 minutes.
- Brush the tuna steaks with more olive oil. In a medium skillet, sear the tuna on both sides over high heat until a crust forms and the fish reaches your preferred doneness, 2 to 3 minutes per side for rare. Serve hot.
